URGENT UPDATE: The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) celebrated a significant milestone today, marking the 10th anniversary of its charity arm, ISCA Cares, during its Annual Dinner held in Singapore. The event, which just concluded, featured the launch of the commemorative book series titled “Making it Count”, officiated by Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office.

This groundbreaking book series highlights the inspiring life stories and reflections of eight Distinguished Lifetime Members who have profoundly impacted the accountancy profession, business community, and public service. These narratives aim to motivate younger generations to pursue accountancy as a rewarding career, emphasizing the profession’s significance in today’s economy.

At the dinner, ISCA also recognized exemplary leaders within the accountancy field. Dr. Ernest Kan, former President of ISCA, received the prestigious Distinguished Lifetime Membership. He expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating,

“I am honoured to receive the ISCA Distinguished Lifetime Membership. The profession has given me so much, and it has been a privilege to contribute to its reform agenda.”

Dr. Kan emphasized the importance of nurturing the next generation of professionals to ensure the continued growth and vitality of the accountancy sector.

Additionally, Max Loh, who has stepped down as Chairman of ISCA Cares, was honored with the ISCA Special Appreciation Award for his remarkable contributions to the organization. He remarked,

“Purpose, Passion, Perseverance, and Positivity are what is required to continually uplift the accountancy profession and contribute to the community.”

Loh officially handed over the Chairmanship to Professor Ang Hak Seng during the event.

ISCA serves as the national accountancy body of Singapore, representing over 40,000 members across more than 40 countries. Established in 1963, ISCA is committed to advocating for the interests of the profession while supporting its members globally.
