sony-unveils-scenescape-new-trade-show-set-for-september-2025

Sony Australia has announced the return of its consumer trade show, now rebranded as SceneScape. The event is scheduled for September 20-21, 2025, at Sydney’s White Bay Power Station. Formerly known as Scene, the rebranded event aims to provide an expanded platform for content creators featuring new interactive experiences and industry demonstrations.

The name SceneScape merges “Scene,” representing Sony’s community platform in Australia and New Zealand, which hosts nearly 1,000 events and workshops annually, with “Scape,” symbolizing the diverse views and moments captured by visual storytellers across various creative disciplines. The event will also mark significant milestones for Sony’s creative community, including the 10th anniversary of the Alpha Awards and the fifth anniversary of the Catchlight Film Festival, both of which will take place at the same venue on September 19 and 20, respectively.

SceneScape 2025 is designed to enhance connectivity among attendees. A newly enlarged Hub area will offer hands-on access to Sony’s full Digital Imaging range, allowing participants to interact with product specialists and advocates. The Hub will also feature merchandise and product sales, further engaging attendees in the Sony experience.

One of the standout features includes a first-ever kids-focused camera workshop led by Digital Imaging Ambassador Craig Parry. Aimed at children aged 8-14, this workshop will teach photography fundamentals in an engaging manner. Additionally, a collaboration with BRAVIA will present a Live Action Film Set showcasing the “Lens to Living Room” campaign, featuring Sony’s Pro Cinema Line cameras, including the Venice II, Burano, FR7, and FX6. The demonstration will be directed by two-time ACS Gold Tripod Award winner Liam Brennan.

Attendees can also look forward to a Live Podcast Studio, featuring Sony’s newly launched podcast “The Full Frame,” produced by 27 Project. This interactive space will allow participants to explore Sony’s professional audio products, such as C-80 microphones and MDR-MV1 and MDR-M1 headphones.

For gaming enthusiasts, a collaboration with PlayStation will introduce the Play Zone, offering gameplay experiences using the latest PlayStation technology paired with Sony BRAVIA displays. The event will also include a new Workshop Zone, hosting tutorials and hands-on sessions led by over 15 Sony advocates, ambassadors, and industry professionals.

More than 30 industry professionals will present discussions and panels covering topics in photography, videography, filmmaking, and content creation on the Main Stage. SceneScape 2025 will partner with a variety of organizations, including Asus, CR Kennedy, Federation of Camera Clubs NSW, Huxley School of Makeup, Kayell Australia, Pelican, Pixel Perfect, Radbitz, and Videndum, with additional partners to be confirmed.

The rebranding of this event reflects Sony’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that showcases the creative vision of the imaging community, while expanding opportunities for connection and education across both traditional and innovative creative disciplines.
