UPDATE: Students from Brimbank are set to dazzle at the Victoria State School Spectacular next month, as rehearsals intensify for this highly anticipated showcase. The event will take place at the John Cain Arena on September 13, with performances scheduled for 1 PM and 6:30 PM.
This year’s spectacular features an impressive 75-piece ensemble, highlighting the extraordinary talents of Victorian state school students in song, dance, and circus acts. Among the performers is Chloe, a Year 12 student from Victoria University, who expressed her excitement about participating in the show for the first time. “I’ve never done any out-of-school activities, so this was new, but it ended up being more fun than I imagined,” she stated.
Chloe also emphasized the importance of making new connections through the rehearsal process. “It’s like I can make so many new connections in many areas of Melbourne and share in our common interests in music,” she added. Her message to fellow Year 12 students is clear: “You never know if you get this chance again, so you might as well do it.”
Additionally, siblings Aydin and Chloe from Copperfield College have been selected as principal dancers for the show. Aydin shared his pride in this achievement, stating, “This is the third time I have participated in the Victorian State School Spectacular. It feels special to share the stage with my sister at John Cain Arena.” He also highlighted the diverse range of performances this year, noting that “each routine can give you a different emotion in just the first movements or lyrics.”
Chloe echoed her brother’s enthusiasm, stating, “Being in the show with Aydin feels extremely special as it makes me feel more comfortable having someone I know so well with me through the whole experience.” She is particularly enjoying the opportunity to explore new styles and collaborate with a variety of artists.
Both Aydin and Chloe aspire to pursue careers in dance, performing arts, and choreography. The excitement surrounding the Victoria State School Spectacular is palpable, as students prepare to showcase their hard work and passion on this prestigious stage.
