URGENT UPDATE: Thailand has just unveiled a new initiative aimed at boosting international tourism confidence. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launched the “Trusted Thailand” Stamp on August 27, 2025, designed to enhance the kingdom’s image as a safe and welcoming destination for travelers worldwide.
This initiative comes as Thailand seeks to reassure visitors about their safety during travel, especially amid rising global concerns. Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports, Jakkaphon Tangsutthitham, emphasized the importance of safety as a foundation for sustainable tourism, stating, “The government recognizes that safety is our first priority in policy.” As Thailand looks to attract key markets like China, this move reflects a concerted effort to maintain trust among potential visitors.
The “Trusted Thailand” Stamp will serve as a practical symbol for tourists, providing assurance that participating operators meet stringent safety standards. The TAT will assess businesses based on four critical criteria: general safety measures at tourism sites, secure financial transactions, effective communication, and safe access and mobility for visitors. This rigorous assessment aims to create a safe environment that caters to families, female travelers, and quality tourists from regions such as South Korea, Japan, the US, the UK, and Europe.
TAT Governor, Thapanee Kiatphaibool, noted, “More than a symbol, it represents our commitment to making Thailand a destination where every visitor feels secure and truly welcome.” This initiative comes at a crucial time as Thailand gears up for its peak tourism season, with efforts to restore traveler confidence and enhance the sector’s recovery.
In addition to the stamp, TAT plans to host public forums and workshops with various agencies, including the Tourist Police Bureau and the Department of Tourism, to discuss integrated safety management. These activities will pave the way for a comprehensive approach to tourism safety, with a focus on accommodation, restaurants, attractions, and shopping centers.
The “Trusted Thailand” Stamp project is set to officially launch across the nation in October 2025, with a dedicated mini-site scheduled to go live in September 2025. This platform will provide a self-assessment tool for operators and offer visitors a directory of certified businesses, enhancing transparency in the tourism sector.
With ongoing digital campaigns and partnerships with influencers, TAT aims to project Thailand as a modern, stable, and safe destination. The overarching message is clear: “Travel Thailand with Confidence Every Step of the Way.”
As Thailand moves forward with this initiative, travelers can expect greater safety assurances and a renewed commitment to quality in tourism experiences. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as Thailand positions itself as a leader in safe travel.
