urgent-my-first-speech-competition-opens-for-2025-submissions

UPDATE: The highly anticipated 2025 My First Speech competition is now officially open for submissions, urging Year 10, 11, and 12 students across Australia to participate. This exciting event invites young Australians to voice their opinions on pressing issues that matter to them, with the deadline for entries set for 11:59 PM AEST on September 15, 2025.

Students are challenged to craft a compelling 90-second speech, mirroring the experience of delivering their first address in the House of Representatives. This unique opportunity not only fosters engagement in democracy but also empowers youth to articulate their passionate viewpoints.

Winners will be carefully selected from each year group by a distinguished panel of judges, including Milton Dick MP, the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Each victorious student will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Canberra with a parent or guardian, where they will present their speech at Parliament House.

The winners will also gain invaluable experiences, including meeting Members of Parliament, touring Parliament House, and learning about the democratic process from those who shape it. This initiative aims to inspire the next generation of leaders and encourage civic participation.

Visit the official My First Speech website for additional details and to submit your entry today. Don’t miss this chance to make your voice heard and engage with the heart of Australian democracy! The clock is ticking—get your speech ready before the September deadline!
