BREAKING: Manulife has just launched its inaugural Longevity Symposium in Singapore, attracting over 1,000 attendees including healthcare experts and industry leaders. The event, held at the iconic Marina Bay Sands on September 6, 2025, was highlighted by the presence of Minister of State Jasmin Lau, emphasizing the growing importance of longevity and wellness in Asia.
This landmark event serves as a critical platform to address how individuals can not only live longer but also enhance their quality of life. Manulife is stepping up its commitment to the longevity movement in Asia, echoing its global initiatives following two successful symposiums in Boston led by John Hancock.
Benoit Meslet, President and CEO of Manulife Singapore, stated, “Our role goes beyond paying claims. We empower customers to make better health and financial decisions.” Results from Manulife’s recent Asia Care survey revealed that only 6% of respondents desired a longer lifespan; instead, most prioritized staying active and achieving financial independence.
The symposium featured keynote sessions, interactive showcases, and expert panels discussing critical topics such as AI in health diagnostics, retirement planning, and community engagement. These discussions aim to foster collaboration among individuals, industries, and societies to extend health spans and enhance quality of life.
A major highlight of the event was the launch of the enhanced ManulifeMOVE, which now supports a more comprehensive approach to well-being across six key areas, including healthcare and community engagement. The program, originally designed to promote physical activity, has evolved to provide clients with a tiered membership structure that offers a range of benefits and services for preventive health and assistive care.
Harshal Shah, Chief Marketing & Experience Design Officer at Manulife Asia, emphasized, “Insurance is evolving. With ManulifeMOVE, we empower customers to take charge of their health and financial choices.”
In conjunction with the symposium, Manulife announced the winners of the ‘Innovating for Asia’s Demographic Future Challenge,’ an initiative in partnership with UpLink, the World Economic Forum’s innovation initiative. The ten winning ventures will share a prize pool of $200,000 and gain access to valuable networking opportunities aimed at scaling their solutions for multigenerational financial resilience and healthy ageing.
The symposium is a significant milestone for Manulife, reinforcing its mission to champion a healthier, more confident life in an ageing Asia. As the conversation around longevity continues to gain traction, Manulife is positioned at the forefront of this movement, working tirelessly to ensure individuals can not only add years to their lives but also enrich those years with purpose and quality.
With the rapid ageing of societies across Asia, the implications of this symposium and the initiatives announced are profound. Manulife’s leadership in promoting longevity-focused solutions marks a new era in health and financial preparedness, encouraging individuals to rethink their futures.
Stay tuned for ongoing updates as Manulife continues to lead the charge in transforming the narrative around ageing and wellness in Asia.
