URGENT UPDATE: A thrilling pop-up museum is set to take over Mill Park and Epping North on September 25. From 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, the Miller Community Centre will transform into a gateway to Australia’s prehistoric past, courtesy of Museums Victoria. Families with children aged three to thirteen are invited to engage in this interactive experience that promises to captivate curious minds.

The event will feature extraordinary specimens from the renowned Melbourne Museum collection. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to see a life-sized Muttaburrasaurus skull and leg, alongside a skull cast and footprint artworks of the colossal Diprotodon, the largest marsupial ever known to roam Australia.

In addition, visitors can meet the Koolaschus Cleelandi, a car-sized ancient amphibian, officially recognized as Victoria’s state fossil emblem. The pop-up will also showcase the skull cast of the Thylacoleo, famously dubbed the “marsupial lion,” which prowled Australia’s landscapes thousands of years ago.

But that’s not all—attendees will also encounter taxidermy specimens of beloved native animals, including the koala, platypus, echidna, and a variety of birds. This unique blend of history and nature is designed to inspire awe and spark curiosity among visitors of all ages.

The pop-up will continue its journey to the Galada Community Centre in Epping North for a second presentation at 2 PM on the same day, providing even more opportunities for families to explore Australia’s rich natural history right in their neighborhood.
