UPDATE: The highly anticipated Bloomfest 2025 is just around the corner! On September 20, 2025, Coonabarabran will light up with a spectacular evening of free music, art, and community spirit as the festival returns for its second year, promising an unforgettable experience under the stars of Australia’s only Dark Sky Park.
Starting at 3:00 PM and running until 9:00 PM, Dalgarno Street will transform into a vibrant hub of activity. With free admission, Bloomfest is designed to be accessible for families and all visitors, making it a must-see event in regional New South Wales.
Festival-goers will enjoy a rich program featuring live performances from artists like Tilly Poole, Phat Brass, and local favorite Where’s Dave. The festivities will also include captivating entertainment from the Coonabarabran Celtic Club Pipes and Drums and interactive workshops for all ages, including painting, badge-making, and floral tattoos.
Mayor of Warrumbungle Shire Council, Kathryn Rindfleish, emphasizes the festival’s significance: “Bloomfest is where our region shines. We bring together the wildflowers of spring, the wonder of the dark skies, and the creativity of our community in one unforgettable evening. Best of all, it’s a completely free event, so everyone can come and enjoy the entertainment, workshops, and activities.”
In addition to the performances, attendees can immerse themselves in interactive light displays and art installations, featuring projections and a stunning 3D chalk artwork by local artist Zac Craig. Food lovers can indulge in a variety of offerings from market stalls, including tacos, Thai dishes, BBQ, gelato, and handmade gifts.
As visitors prepare to travel to Coonabarabran, the festival presents a perfect opportunity to explore the surrounding natural beauty. The nearby Warrumbungle National Park is alive with vibrant spring wildflowers, while the Pilliga Forest offers adventurous walking trails and hidden wildlife. Don’t miss the chance to visit the Siding Spring Observatory, the gateway to Australia’s first Dark Sky Park.
Bloomfest 2025 is not just a festival; it’s a celebration of community and creativity, funded by the NSW Government as part of the Vibrant Streets Package through the Open Streets Program, led by Transport for NSW.
