URGENT UPDATE: Victorian Senior Card holders can enjoy eight days of free public transport starting Sunday, October 5, through Sunday, October 12, just in time for the exciting events of the Victorian Seniors Festival.
This initiative allows seniors to travel at no cost across all metropolitan trains, trams, and buses, as well as regional trains and local town bus services. With the festival running from October 1 to October 31, now is the perfect time for seniors to explore the vibrant communities of Hume and Whittlesea.
To take advantage of this free travel offer, seniors must carry both their myki card and Victorian Seniors Card. Passengers should continue to touch on and off as they normally would, but no charges will apply. Authorities recommend traveling during off-peak hours to ensure a comfortable journey.
In addition, seniors can make group reservations for free, accommodating up to 19 people on train services and 12 or more on coach services. This is a fantastic opportunity for families and friends to enjoy events together without the worry of transport costs.
