URGENT UPDATE: The highly anticipated 2025 World Manufacturing Convention is set to kick off in Hefei, China, tomorrow, September 20, 2025. This event marks a significant step in Anhui Province’s commitment to opening up its economy and accelerating its global expansion in the manufacturing sector.
Anhui is making waves, with new statistics revealing a total import and export value of 629.43 billion yuan in the first eight months of this year, reflecting a remarkable 13.8 percent year-on-year increase. This surge positions Anhui first in central China and ninth nationwide, with the province boasting the sixth-fastest growth rate in the country and the top spot in the Yangtze River Delta region.
The province’s robust economy is further highlighted by its status as the leading automobile exporter in China. Companies are not just focusing on local sales but are also joining forces internationally to expand their market reach. Notably, Gotion High-Tech has entered into a joint venture with Slovak companies to build an electric vehicle battery factory, investing a staggering €1.233 billion and creating 1,300 jobs in the process.
Anhui’s strategic approach to attracting foreign investment has proven effective. The province’s commitment to fostering a favorable business environment is evident through its Action Plan for Stabilizing Foreign Investment. This initiative aims to eliminate differential treatment between domestic and foreign enterprises, ensuring that foreign-invested businesses receive equal support and opportunities.
The government has also established specialized mechanisms to assist key export-oriented enterprises, appointing dedicated service specialists to tackle trade challenges and enhance the export of competitive products.
Over the past several years, Anhui has fortified its global connections, hosting the World Manufacturing Convention for seven consecutive years. The province has also conducted the RCEP Local Government and Friendship Cities Cooperation (Huangshan) Forum twice, solidifying its role as a primary platform for economic openness.
As the World Manufacturing Convention approaches, all eyes are on Anhui as it reaffirms its position as a dynamic hub for smart manufacturing and international trade. The event is expected to showcase the province’s innovative capabilities and attract further investment from global players.
