UPDATE: The China (Guangxi)–ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Application Ecosystem Exchange Conference 2025 has officially kicked off in Nanning, China, as of September 18, 2025. This groundbreaking event is set to transform AI collaboration in the region, with the unveiling of over 30 cross-border AI cooperation achievements and the signing of more than 50 agreements.

The conference, held at the Wuxiang Cloud Valley AI Park, is a flagship component of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo. It emphasizes the critical theme of “AI+” collaboration, aiming to integrate artificial intelligence with various sectors to accelerate digital and intelligent transformation across China and ASEAN countries.

Mayor Hou Gang of Nanning stated that the city is rapidly developing the China-ASEAN AI Innovation Cooperation Center. He emphasized Nanning’s growing role as a pivotal hub for Chinese AI enterprises looking to expand into the ASEAN market.

During the conference, Yeoh Jun Hao, representative of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, expressed optimism about the partnership between China and Malaysia, stating, “We have strong complementarity and broad cooperation potential in AI.”

Several key initiatives were launched at the conference, including the “Star Computing Cloud Pool,” a cutting-edge platform for inclusive computing power developed by Wuxiang Cloud Valley. Other notable launches included the AITIR multilingual real-time translation card and the National Robotics Exchange (NRX) talent platform.

The conference also saw the establishment of the China-ASEAN AI Industry-University-Research Innovation Alliance, alongside the “AI Application Ecosystem Construction Initiative” initiated by Runjian Co., Ltd. Parallel sub-forums focused on critical sectors such as education, intelligent operations, AI agriculture, and AI healthcare, leading to the initiation of multiple joint training programs and cross-border cooperation projects.

An innovation exhibition area showcased over 40 institutions and ASEAN enterprises, presenting real-world applications of AI across various sectors. The event attracted nearly 1,000 representatives from governments, enterprises, and academia throughout China and ASEAN, highlighting the significant interest in AI advancements.

As Guangxi continues to strengthen its partnerships and technical collaborations with ASEAN countries, the conference marks a crucial step in promoting broader adoption of “AI+” technologies throughout the region.
