URGENT UPDATE: The St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Gisborne is set to host its highly anticipated Quilt and Craft Show this Saturday, October 4, from 9 AM to 3 PM. This annual event showcases the talents of the Gisborne Craft Group, featuring stunning hand-sewn quilts and a variety of handcrafted items.

Organizers, including Marion Place, emphasize that this year’s display promises to be extraordinary. “Every second year we have a quilt show and some other crafts,” said Place. The quilts will be elegantly displayed in the church over the pews and on the walls, while attendees can enjoy refreshments including morning tea and soup in the hall.

The Gisborne Craft Group has been diligently creating quilts throughout the year, with a commitment to charitable giving. “We usually donate between 150 and 200 quilts each year, and we’ve already given away 60 quilts this year,” Place revealed. These quilts benefit local organizations, including the Gisborne and Kyneton foodbanks, Salvation Army in Sunbury, and Catholic Care in Bendigo.

The show will not only feature quilt displays but also provide an opportunity for attendees to engage with the crafters, learn about their creative processes, and discover where the quilts will be donated next. Additionally, there will be interactive activities like card making and beading available for participants.

This event highlights the dedication of a small group of artisans who have received generous donations of fabrics to aid their crafting efforts. Ms. Place is eager to share their work with the community and inspire future crafters.

Don’t miss your chance to support this meaningful cause and enjoy a day of creativity and community spirit. For more information, contact Marion Place at 0448 887 657.
