URGENT UPDATE: Authorities are actively hunting for four masked thugs who are still on the run following a series of violent home invasions in Perth’s north. The suspects are wanted for allegedly assaulting a woman with a machete during these terrifying incidents, which unfolded over a mere 36 hours.
The chaos began around 4:30 AM on Wednesday, when two men, armed with machetes and dressed in dark clothing with balaclavas, broke into a home on Sohan Way in Butler. They stole car keys and fled the scene in a stolen white Toyota Corolla, registered as 1HOK709.

Detective Constable Ciara Lydiate from the Rapid Apprehension Squad described the burglaries as “very serious” and “distressing,” asserting that these attacks appear to be “completely random.” She emphasized the unacceptability of such violence, stating, “
Violence of this nature is unacceptable, and people being threatened in the safety of their home is something that will not be tolerated.
”
As the manhunt continues, police are urging the Ocean Reef and Butler communities to remain vigilant. Detective Lydiate advises residents to “keep your doors locked, and if you see anything suspicious, say something.” Tips can be reported to Crime Stoppers at 131 444.
