URGENT UPDATE: Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. has just unveiled the world’s most powerful hybrid wheeled tractor, the DX7004, in an event held at its Smart Industry City in Changsha, China. Announced by Chairman and CEO Zhan Chunxin, this revolutionary machine is set to redefine high-horsepower agricultural equipment with a staggering peak output of 1,200 horsepower.
The DX7004 is engineered for high-intensity, large-scale farming operations and stands nearly four meters tall. It incorporates cutting-edge hybrid drive technology, establishing a new benchmark in the industry. This launch marks a significant milestone in Zoomlion’s mission to enhance intelligent and sustainable agricultural production, as emphasized by Fu Ling, Vice President and Chief Engineer at Zoomlion.
“In recent years, Zoomlion has successfully leveraged its strength in construction equipment to accelerate the transformation of the agricultural sector,” Fu noted. The DX7004 features a dual-motor hybrid powertrain, providing a rated output of 700 horsepower and a peak torque of 4,500 Nm. Remarkably, it can cover up to 7,200 mu (approximately 480 hectares) in just 12 hours of continuous operation.
The tractor’s innovative distributed electric drive system enables stepless field-speed control, while an electric motor-driven hydraulic output ensures precision for multi-functional implements. Furthermore, the DX7004 integrates Zoomlion’s self-developed EPiot smart driving system and AOS intelligent operations platform, facilitating autonomous driving with centimeter-level precision—even at high speeds.

Since entering the agricultural equipment sector in 2014, Zoomlion has swiftly made its mark, becoming the first Chinese company selected for the UN’s long-term procurement program for agricultural machinery in 2021. The company now offers a comprehensive range of agricultural solutions, including plowing, planting, crop management, harvesting, and storage, suitable for both paddy and dryland farming systems.
