UPDATE: The annual Tallong Apple Day Festival exploded with excitement on Sunday, September 28, 2025, drawing a massive crowd eager to enjoy a unique blend of activities and a strong sense of community spirit. The festival not only showcased delicious apple products but also featured thrilling attractions like pig races, medieval duels, and a rock climbing wall, making it an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Over 300 kilograms of apples were prepared by an enthusiastic team of volunteers, including seven international participants from countries such as Laos, Mexico, and Germany, who traveled to Tallong as part of the International Volunteers for Peace (IVP) program. Their presence underscored the event’s community-driven ethos, as they helped set up stalls and delivered excellent customer service throughout the day.

Local resident Laura Champion expressed her pride in the festival, stating, “This is by far the biggest event for our little town.” Attendees filled the narrow streets of Tallong, highlighting the festival’s popularity and significance to the local economy.

Additionally, volunteers like Helen Sutiawan from Indonesia shared their experiences, saying, “I had loved my time in Tallong… It’s a nice experience, meeting people.” The volunteers’ camaraderie and hard work exemplified the festival’s collaborative spirit.

The festival’s proceeds contribute to crucial community projects, with Rodney and Maureen Hollow from the Tallong Community Focus Group noting, “Government grants only go so far. The money raised will go wherever it’s needed.” Past contributions have supported local schools and public services, reinforcing the festival’s role as a vital fundraising event.

As laughter and cheers echoed through the festival grounds, Joshua Sloss, an instructor at the Castelyn Medieval group, entertained the crowd with medieval combat demonstrations. “It was our last public event for the season,” he noted, emphasizing the thrill of engaging with the audience.

The Tallong Apple Day Festival not only celebrates the region’s apple harvest but also fosters global connections and community collaboration. With visitors and volunteers alike leaving with cherished memories, the festival continues to thrive as a testament to the spirit of Tallong.

As the day wrapped up, the local community and visitors reflected on a successful event, promising even more excitement for next year. Don’t miss out on future updates about this vibrant festival and its impact on the Tallong community.
