Dolly Parton has postponed her upcoming Las Vegas residency due to health concerns, as she revealed on social media. The country music icon was set to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from December 4 to 13, 2023, but announced that she will now reschedule the shows for September 2024.

In a heartfelt message, Parton explained, “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.” She humorously added that it must be time for her “100,000-mile check-up,” referencing her long career in the entertainment industry. Parton emphasized her commitment to providing the best possible performance, stating, “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”

The residency, titled Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, was highly anticipated, coinciding with the National Finals Rodeo. Fans who purchased tickets can use them for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will also be available. Parton reassured her audience, saying, “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.” She added, “I believe he is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

Despite not touring since her Pure & Simple Tour concluded in 2016, Parton has remained active. She is set to release a new book, Star of the Show: My Life on Stage, on November 11, 2023. Additionally, a stage musical inspired by her life is scheduled to open on Broadway in 2026.

Earlier this month, Parton was unable to attend a significant event at her theme park, Dollywood, due to health issues, including a kidney stone that resulted in an infection. She informed fans in a video announcement, “The doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better.’”

Parton’s personal life has also seen challenges recently. In March 2023, her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, passed away at the age of 82. His influence was noted in her classic song “Jolene,” and his absence weighs heavily on her life and career.

As fans await her return to the stage, Parton’s focus remains on her health and future projects. Her resilience and dedication to her craft continue to inspire audiences around the world.
