UPDATE: The highly anticipated Yorke Peninsula Field Days officially opened today, September 30, 2025, in Paskeville, with thousands of attendees streaming through the gates. This biennial event is set to attract as many as 30,000 visitors over its three-day run, making it one of the largest gatherings in the region.
The field days, running from September 30 to October 2, feature over 500 exhibitors and a variety of free activities suitable for all ages. Local officials anticipate this year’s event will inject between $5 million and $8 million into the local economy, underscoring its significance for regional tourism and hospitality.
Dylan Strong, Chief Executive of the Copper Coast Council, emphasized the event’s importance: “The YP Field Days showcase the innovation and strength of our farming community, and deliver a major boost to local tourism.” Strong noted that accommodation venues like the Wallaroo Holiday Park are fully booked, illustrating the event’s draw.
The YP Field Days also serve as a fundraising platform for local sporting clubs and community organizations. Marty Daniel, President of Paskeville Sporting Bodies, highlighted that the event not only benefits exhibitors but also helps sustain essential community services through volunteer efforts and fundraising.
Motorists are advised to adhere to speed limits of 60 km/h around the event site to ensure safety. This plea follows an accident yesterday involving a vehicle and a truck near the venue, reminding attendees and locals to remain vigilant.
A free bus service is available daily, transporting visitors to and from the field days from Kadina, Wallaroo, and Moonta. The bus departs from key locations at 8:30 AM, 8:45 AM, and 9:00 AM, ensuring convenient access for attendees.
The event was officially inaugurated by Tom Venning, Member for Grey, who reinforced the critical role of farmers in global food supply: “Everyone on the planet needs a farmer,” he stated.
As the Yorke Peninsula Field Days continues through Thursday, October 2, excitement is palpable among attendees and exhibitors alike. With its rich history dating back to 1895, this event not only celebrates agricultural advancements but also fosters community spirit and economic vitality in the region.
Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from this year’s spectacular gathering.
