UPDATE: A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged for allegedly selling over 100 fake tickets to Sydney’s highly anticipated Knockout Outdoor rave scheduled for this weekend. The alleged scam has sent shockwaves through the community as authorities confirm they are investigating the incident which unfolded just after 5 PM on September 29.

Police were alerted to a chaotic scene at Cabramatta’s Sussex Street where a large group gathered in a frenzy seeking refunds for the counterfeit tickets. Victims reported that they had purchased the fraudulent tickets through social media, with prices exceeding $200 each. Eyewitnesses described the atmosphere as tense, as attendees felt duped before the event they were eagerly looking forward to.

The man now faces serious charges, including recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime, with the total amount involved estimated at less than or equal to $5,000. He has been granted conditional bail and is set to appear at Liverpool Local Court on October 8. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the ticketing scam, and further details are expected to emerge as they pursue additional leads.

This incident highlights the growing concerns over ticket fraud in the event industry, especially as large gatherings return post-pandemic. With the rave just days away, many fans are left in uncertainty about their plans for the weekend.
