Oasis guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs has announced he will miss a segment of the band’s reunion tour to undergo treatment for prostate cancer. The 60-year-old musician revealed his diagnosis in a statement shared on social media, explaining that he will not participate in the upcoming gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney, scheduled for the next month.

In his message, Bonehead expressed both concern and optimism. “Early this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer,” he stated. “The good news is I’m responding really well to treatment, which meant I could be part of this incredible tour. Now, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I’ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney.” He added that he feels hopeful about his recovery and plans to return to the stage for a concert in Buenos Aires on November 15, 2025.

The musician conveyed his sadness about missing the shows but reassured fans, “I’m really sad to be missing these shows but I’m feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America.” Oasis shared Bonehead’s statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, and included a supportive message: “Wishing you all the best with your treatment Bonehead – we’ll see you back on stage in South America.”

The rock community has rallied around Bonehead during this challenging time. Noel Gallagher’s daughter, Anais, commented, “We love you so much, Bonehead!” while Liam Gallagher’s daughter, Molly Moorish, expressed her support with a simple, “Sending love!”

This is not Bonehead’s first battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in 2022 but announced later that year that he had received the “all clear” from doctors. At that time, he shared on Instagram, “Update on my cancer, I had a full scan 10 days ago, and it’s all clear, it’s gone. Thank you so much all of you for the messages I’ve had throughout, you’ve helped me more than you know.”

Bonehead has been a vital part of Oasis since the band’s inception in 1991, until he left in 1999 to focus on family. Despite this, he continued collaborating with Liam Gallagher on various projects, including the band Beady Eye. His return to Oasis during their recent reunion after a 16-year hiatus marked a significant moment for both him and the fans.

As the band prepares for their remaining tour dates, Bonehead’s health and well-being remain a priority. The upcoming shows are anticipated to be a celebration of the band’s legacy, with fans eager to see the remaining members perform, while also looking forward to Bonehead’s eventual return.
