black-and-whites-smash-fundraising-goal-with-6-000-for-pink-game

BREAKING: The Black and Whites football community has achieved an incredible victory by raising over $6,000 for the return of the Pink Game, surpassing their original goal of $3,000. This urgent fundraising event took place over the weekend and directly supports Griffith Can Assist, a local charity dedicated to helping residents in need.

After a two-season hiatus, the Pink Game returned with a powerful purpose, reflecting the deep ties between players and supporters. Coach and organizer Shailyn Williams expressed her pride in the community’s response, stating, “To get over $6,000 is double what I was expecting, and it’s great that it is going to local people and back into the community.” The event featured various fundraising activities, including raffles and jersey auctions following a thrilling match against the Yenda Blueheelers.

The emotional impetus for this event stems from personal experiences within the team. Williams noted, “I have been affected when I lost my grandmother to cancer, and I used these guys and know first-hand the great work that CanAssist does.” This sentiment resonated strongly throughout the day as players and attendees rallied for a cause that hits close to home.

Olga Forner, president of Griffith Can Assist, expressed her gratitude, saying, “It is terrific to have this kind of support. The girls have partnered with us to help someone in our community directly.” The funds raised will ensure that Griffith Can Assist can continue providing essential support to those facing health challenges in the area.

The day’s success not only showcases the generosity of the Griffith community but also highlights the spirit of unity. Williams emphasized, “When we have to come together for something, we do it. I was very happy. We should always be looking to help each other because you never know when you might need the help yourself.”

With this overwhelming support, the Black and Whites have set a new benchmark for community fundraising efforts. The funds will significantly bolster Griffith Can Assist’s ability to deliver critical assistance to local families. The community is now looking ahead, inspired to keep this momentum going and continue supporting one another.

As the Black and Whites celebrate this victory, all eyes will be on future events that promise to further engage and uplift the community. This remarkable achievement sets a precedent for charitable initiatives in sports, proving that teamwork extends beyond the field.
