UPDATE: Authorities have launched an urgent recovery mission after the bodies of two women were discovered in a remote alpine area of Victoria. The grim find occurred around 12:50 PM on Friday, July 14, 2023, near the Cleve Cole Hut, a well-known stop for hikers traversing towards Mt Bogong.
Two hikers stumbled upon the bodies while walking in Nelse and immediately alerted authorities, who faced challenges reaching the site due to its remote location, northeast of the popular Falls Creek ski resort.
