UPDATE: A beloved Melton resident, Audrey Arnold, has just celebrated her incredible 100th birthday on 11 September, surrounded by family, friends, and fellow residents at Estia Health Melton South. This milestone not only marks a century of life but also highlights the deep affection her family holds for her.

In a touching tribute, Ms. Arnold’s niece, Cheryl Evans, shared that Audrey has always been a vibrant force in her community. She dedicated part of her life to the Red Cross, serving tea and coffee to blood donors and hand-knitting over 1,000 trauma teddies for children in need. “She’s only been in a nursing home since December last year,” Evans noted, emphasizing Ms. Arnold’s independent spirit, having lived alone for most of her life.

Ms. Arnold’s family includes an impressive 20 nieces and nephews, 34 great-nieces and nephews, and approximately 24 great-great-nieces and nephews. Great-niece Donna May called her the family matriarch, stating, “She’s always been there for everyone … she’s just the most amazing woman. I just love her to death.”

Adding to the celebration, Ms. Arnold received heartfelt letters from notable figures, including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Premier Jacinta Allan, recognizing her remarkable life and contributions.

As Ms. Arnold reflects on her century of life, her family and friends continue to celebrate her spirit and resilience. “She is an amazing woman, and we are very blessed to have her in our lives,” said May in a Facebook post.
