
On October 4, 2023, the Merinda Park Learning and Community Centre hosted its annual Multicultural Family Day, an event designed to celebrate the diverse cultures within the community. The day featured a traditional Welcome and Smoking Ceremony, setting a respectful tone for the festivities that followed.
Guests were treated to an array of cultural performances and presentations, highlighting the rich tapestry of traditions represented in the local area. Children and families enjoyed various activities, including free fairy floss, popcorn, and the ever-popular sausage sizzle. The atmosphere was lively, with face painting and temporary tattoos adding to the fun. Additionally, stalls provided local crafts and information, while a petting zoo allowed younger attendees to interact with animals. An emergency vehicle display offered an educational element, giving families a closer look at local emergency services.
