Global City Development and Gilu Development, in collaboration with Shawmut Design and Construction, officially broke ground on the Tech Tower project, a new 23-story residential development located in Sweetwater, Florida. The ceremony took place on October 10, 2023, marking a significant advancement in the area’s ongoing growth and meeting the increasing demand for quality housing.

The Tech Tower is set to deliver 517 upscale apartments along with a range of modern amenities and retail space on the ground floor. Key figures from the city and the development teams were present at the groundbreaking event. Among them were Brian Pearl, Principal and Co-Founder of Global City Development; Adam Adler, Principal; and Alec Muñoz, Senior Vice President of Construction. Luis Bermudez, Principal of Gilu Development, and Alexis Leal, Florida Head of Shawmut, also participated in the ceremony. Sweetwater Mayor Jose “Pepe” Diaz was a special guest, underscoring the local government’s support for the project.

Designed by the renowned architectural firm Arquitectonica, Tech Tower is positioned to elevate the concept of workforce housing by blending attainable rents with luxurious amenities. The development will feature 28,197 square feet of amenity space, including a yoga lawn, fitness studios, a lounge, a rooftop pool deck, and a club room. Additionally, the ground floor will provide 2,923 square feet of retail space, enhancing the community’s accessibility to essential services.
