URGENT UPDATE: Greenvale’s Bradford Avenue Reserve is set for a major transformation, and Hume Council is calling on local residents to voice their opinions on the park’s new playground designs. This is your chance to shape the future of this vital community space!

The proposed upgrade is part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan aimed at enhancing the park’s play area and sportsground. As Greenvale continues to grow, this initiative seeks to meet the increasing demand for active outdoor play opportunities.

The current playground, which has served the community for over 20 years, is now outdated and needs renewal to comply with Australian standards. While improvements to the sportsground are already secured, the council is eager for local feedback on three unique playground design options.

Each design caters to different age groups and play styles, ensuring all children can benefit. Voting is open until Friday, December 19, 2025, and residents must register to participate through the Participate Hume website.

Option A features exciting elements like monkey bars and a climbing cube integrated into a senior slide, targeting children up to 12 years old. This option promotes strength-based and adventurous play. Option B also serves a similar age group but has a climbing cube positioned away from the main slide to provide varied experiences for older children.

For younger children, Option C introduces a stand-alone cubby house, fostering imaginative play. All designs are crafted to support children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development with engaging activities like swinging, balancing, spinning, sliding, and climbing.

Officials emphasize that the upgrades aim to create a more inviting atmosphere for Greenvale’s growing families and visitors. New amenities, including seating, a barbecue and picnic shelter, and a drinking fountain, will further enhance the park’s appeal.

Residents are encouraged to view the proposed designs and cast their votes on the Participate Hume website at https://participate.hume.vic.gov.au/. Don’t miss this opportunity to make your voice heard and contribute to a project that will impact the community for years to come!

Stay tuned for further updates as the voting period progresses. Your input is crucial in shaping a space that will benefit the many families of Greenvale!
