URGENT UPDATE: The 32nd Borderline Street Rodders Yamba Rod Run has shattered records with an astounding 511 entrants and drawn thousands of spectators to Ford Park over the weekend. This event, held on November 12, 2025, has become a major highlight for car enthusiasts, showcasing nearly 500 classic cars and hot rods from across Australia, including participants from Tasmania and Cairns.
The atmosphere was electric as car lovers flocked to the Show and Shine event, which ran from 9 AM to noon. President of the Borderline Street Rodders, Craig Nolan, expressed enthusiasm for this year’s turnout, stating, “We had 511 entries, surpassing our previous record of 480.” This overwhelming participation signifies the event’s growing popularity and community support.
The weekend event not only celebrated automotive culture but also raised significant funds for charity. Nolan revealed, “Over the years, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various charities.” This year, auctions included a uniquely decorated vintage fridge and a signed poster from Moon Eyes in America, with proceeds benefiting the Meningococcal Foundation.
Despite earlier concerns about venue availability after the NRMA’s acquisition of the Blue Dolphin resort, which led to many entrants seeking off-site accommodations, the event remained fully booked at the park. Nolan noted, “A lot of regulars that used to stay at the Blue Dolphin found other places, but the community supported us immensely.” Local businesses reported a surge in activity, with many enjoying the influx of visitors.
The Rod Run featured a series of organized drives throughout the Lower Clarence, including a popular observation drive to Sanctus Brewery and scenic routes around Yamba and Angourie. “We provided notes on good places to stop and eat, encouraging attendees to explore the area,” Nolan added.
Entertainment was a key element, with live music from the band Linelockers preceding the auctions on Friday night. The event concluded with presentations on Sunday morning, celebrating the community’s spirit and camaraderie.
Nolan emphasized the event’s festive atmosphere, stating, “People enjoy cruising the park while others watch from the sidelines—it’s a bit of a party atmosphere.”
As plans begin for the 2026 Yamba Rod Run, organizers will meet with Blue Dolphin management in the coming weeks to ensure the event’s future. Nolan assured, “We are happy to come back, as long as they are happy to have us back.”
For those eager to relive the excitement, photos of the stunning vehicles from the Show and Shine will soon be available on the Clarence Valley Independent website.
This year’s Yamba Rod Run not only set records but also reinforced community ties and charitable efforts, making it a truly memorable event for all involved.
