URGENT UPDATE: Melbourne’s iconic Myer Christmas window display has officially launched, featuring an impressive 488,215 Lego bricks. Unveiled on November 8, 2025, this year’s display represents a significant creative evolution from last year’s controversial design, which faced backlash for its eerie portrayal of the Irwin family.
This year, Myer marks the 70th anniversary of its renowned window displays with a stunning Lego-themed exhibit, meticulously planned over the past year. Collaborating with Lego Group and led by certified Lego professional Ryan McNaught, also known as The Brickman, the display tells a heartwarming story of a letter to Santa journeying from the Melbourne post office to the North Pole Workshop.
Narrated by Hamish Blake, host of Lego Masters, the display encapsulates the festive spirit by showcasing classic Australian Christmas traditions. Among the highlights, visitors can marvel at a detailed Lego replica of the Melbourne skyline, featuring the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and a scene from the upcoming Boxing Day Test match.
Additionally, a vibrant cast of Lego minifigures brings to life the beloved annual Carols by Candlelight event at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, creating an immersive experience for all ages.
The dazzling exhibition will remain open to the public at Myer’s Bourke Street Mall location until January 11, 2026. As a special attraction, a nightly Christmas light show will continue throughout November leading up to Christmas Day, enhancing the festive atmosphere in Melbourne.
This year’s collaboration with Lego not only revitalizes the beloved window display but also aims to captivate families and visitors, making it a must-see holiday experience.
The buzz surrounding this iconic display is sure to draw large crowds, making it an exciting event for Melbourne residents and tourists alike. Don’t miss your chance to witness this extraordinary celebration of creativity and holiday cheer!
