The competition, which boasts 24 teams this season, is rapidly gaining acclaim for its high-quality play. In a nail-biting encounter, Altona Sports triumphed over Tarneit Central in a super over showdown. Tarneit, the reigning champions for the past two years, set a target of 163 runs but fell short as Altona matched their score, forcing the super over. Amrit Nagra was Tarneit’s top scorer with 43 runs, while Prashant Krishna excelled with four wickets for Altona.

Bryden, who also captains Altona, recounted the tense moments: “We knew we had Scott for the super over, so it was just push it out to the last ball and push it to a super over.” In the super over, Altona scored 2 runs for 1 wicket before Scott Edwards sealed the victory with 20 not out.

Elsewhere, Glen Orden continued their winning streak, dominating Truganina United with a remarkable score of 3-262. Vice-captain Brar’s explosive innings included a record-setting 16 sixes and 9 fours. Truganina managed just 104 runs in response, with Ravikumar Tailor taking 5 wickets for only 10 runs.
