This latest addition to Riverside Village is a classic Chinese takeout restaurant, led by the dynamic duo of Gracie Nguyen and Chad Newton, who are also behind the hospitality group You Are Here Hospitality.
Golden Prawn #3 aims to evoke nostalgia with a menu featuring beloved Chinese takeout classics. The restaurant promises a selection of wok-fired dishes served from a hot bar, alongside a curated à la carte menu. According to Nguyen and Newton, the concept draws heavily from their childhood experiences and passion for this cuisine.
Nguyen’s expertise in wok cooking is complemented by her extensive training with Chinese and Vietnamese chefs. The offerings will include a variety of accessible dishes priced for everyday enjoyment, ensuring that familiar flavors are within reach for all diners.

The restaurant will operate daily, initially providing limited hours for takeout service. Customers can order from the hot line menu from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.. In-person ordering will be the standard, with plans for an expanded à la carte menu and updated hours to roll out shortly after opening.
The hot line menu features a range of options, including one-item bowls, two-item plates, and three-item “bigger plates.” Diners can select from staples like Sweet & Sour Pork, Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. Each main can be paired with house fried rice, chow mein, or a half-and-half combination.
The à la carte menu will further enhance the dining experience, featuring entrees across chicken, pork, beef, seafood, and vegetable categories. Signature dishes will include Golden Prawns, Kung Pao Shrimp, and Sweet & Spicy Eggplant, alongside comforting rice and noodle dishes. The menu also caters to diverse dietary needs, offering vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

The design of Golden Prawn #3 is a collaborative effort between Southwick Architecture + Interiors and Fresh Creative Studios. The space features a warm color palette of red, gold, and cream, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. A striking neon sign marks the entrance, while custom wallpaper adorned with whimsical illustrations of prawns and takeout boxes wraps the interiors.
Framed vintage Chinese takeout menus will line the walls, paying tribute to the rich history of this beloved cuisine across the country. The focus of the restaurant’s design reflects the heart of the dining experience, highlighted by the hot bar that showcases the essence of traditional Chinese takeout.
