Kevin Spacey will face civil claims of sexual assault in a trial scheduled for October 12, 2026. The actor, known for his role in House of Cards, has previously been acquitted of multiple criminal charges, including seven counts of sexual assault, in a London court in 2023. This new legal battle involves allegations from three men who claim that Spacey assaulted them between 2000 and 2013.
At a recent hearing on November 26, 2025, a judge at London’s High Court provisionally set the date for the civil trial. The allegations against Spacey could be addressed in three consecutive trials, but the accusers’ lawyer, Elizabeth-Anne Gumbel, has requested that the cases be consolidated into a single trial. This approach would prevent the men and Spacey from having to testify multiple times.
The first accuser, known only as LNP, alleges that Spacey “deliberately assaulted” him on approximately twelve occasions between 2000 and 2005. Another accuser, referred to as GHI, claims to have suffered psychiatric damage and financial loss as a result of an alleged assault that occurred in 2008 after meeting Spacey at a workshop at the Old Vic theatre in London.
The third accuser, Ruari Cannon, has waived his right to anonymity. He alleges that Spacey groped him at a party following the press night for the production of Sweet Bird of Youth at the Old Vic in 2013. Cannon has previously appeared in a documentary titled Spacey Unmasked, released in 2024. Spacey has described Cannon’s allegations as “ridiculous,” asserting that the incident never occurred.
Spacey has consistently denied all allegations of wrongdoing. He formally denied two of the civil claims and has yet to file a defense regarding the third. In a statement on social media platform X, Spacey noted, “Each time I have been given the time and a proper forum to defend myself, the allegations have failed under scrutiny and I have been exonerated.”
While he has acknowledged past behavior that he described as “too handsy,” Spacey maintains that he has never “groped” anyone. This upcoming civil trial represents another chapter in the ongoing legal challenges facing the actor, as he seeks to clear his name amid serious accusations.
