UPDATE: Grand United has maintained its unbeaten streak in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association (VTCA) T20 competition, triumphing over Newport-Digman in a gripping catch-up match on Tuesday night. The Gorillas showcased their dominance, scoring 8-104 in their innings, with standout performances from Kyle Welsh who netted 35 runs and Leo Turnbull-Gent contributing a vital 28 runs down the order.

Despite a promising start, the Bulls faltered dramatically, collapsing from 4-74 to a total of just 92 runs as they lost their last six wickets for a mere 18 runs. Charlie O’Dea led the Bulls’ effort with 30 runs before being run out, ultimately sealing the Gorillas’ victory.

With this win, Grand United joins Deer Park at the top of the standings, both teams boasting a perfect record of three victories. Meanwhile, in another thrilling match within Group A3, Keilor struggled against Oak Park St Francis. The Saints set a formidable target of 7-157, with Richard Clarke scoring a spectacular 60 runs. In response, Keilor started strong at 1-66, but their batting lineup crumbled, collapsing to just 135 runs with Harry Warrick managing a top score of 42 runs.

As the competition progresses, the Saints, Westmeadows, and Footscray United each have secured two wins, while the remaining teams have one victory apiece. In Group B1, East Keilor dominated Pascoe Vale Hadfield, demonstrating their strength in the tournament.

In an exciting twist in Group B3, both Point Cook and Wyndham Vale concluded their match with identical scores of 8-105 after their 20 overs.
