spilt-milk-festival-draws-thousands-to-canberra-for-epic-music-lineup

Music fans flocked to Canberra on July 7, 2025, for the highly anticipated Spilt Milk Festival, showcasing an impressive lineup that included global rap sensation Kendrick Lamar. After last year’s festival was cancelled, attendees were eager to immerse themselves in a day filled with music, vibrant outfits, and electrifying performances at Exhibition Park in Canberra.

Among the crowd was Ben Packwood, who travelled over 17,000 kilometers from Leicester, England, to attend the festival. Clad in a Leicester City Football Club jersey, he was joined by his cousin Calum Harland, both of whom were part of a large crowd of music enthusiasts arriving at the venue. As fans flocked to the event, the light rail service to EPIC station was filled to capacity, with the overhead display boards indicating “Large crowds expected.”

Excitement and Fashion Define the Festival

Attendees from across Australia and abroad gathered for the festival, with fans from Sydney making up a significant portion of the crowd. Despite the challenging accommodation situation in Canberra, many arrived in stylish attire, ready to celebrate the day’s events. Wendy Amid, Jennifer Spinola, and Elizabeth Ho stood out in their distinctive yellow duck headbands, a choice made to help them identify their group in the crowd. “We all wore the yellow duck to identify ourselves in the crowd,” Ho explained as she waited for her friends to join them.

Some festival-goers, like Akaash Narayan and Jaz, followed Lamar from his concert in Sydney to catch his performance in Canberra. “The Sydney show was amazing, and we decided to catch the Canberra one, too,” Jaz said. Having booked tickets back in May, they were fortunate to secure accommodation in Campbell before heading to the festival.

Bright outfits and accessories were a common sight among the crowd. Regular attendees of the festival, friends Jarrod Peace and Kye Beccapelle from Wollongong, wore matching caps adorned with propellers. Lucca Paijmans, known for his milkman hat and all-white ensemble, was a hit among the attendees, embodying the playful spirit of Spilt Milk. “It’s Spilt Milk, and nothing is more perfect than this,” he stated enthusiastically.

Lineup Highlights and Atmosphere

As the day unfolded, the festival atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Organizers prepared for performances from other notable acts, including Dominic Fike and Doechii, promising a thrilling experience for attendees. The festival, which has gained popularity since its inception, was a delightful reunion for many fans who cherished the opportunity to enjoy live music in a vibrant setting.

With a diverse lineup and a spirited crowd, Spilt Milk Festival 2025 not only reignited the excitement for music lovers but also solidified Canberra’s status as a key destination for major events. The combination of loyal fans, vibrant fashion, and a stellar musical lineup created an unforgettable experience that resonated with attendees long after the final notes were played.
