Lexus has unveiled the RZ 600e “F SPORT Performance,” a special-edition model that enhances its dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) lineup. This new model is set to be available at Lexus dealerships across the country starting on March 2, 2026. Serving as the brand’s first BEV-dedicated offering, the RZ aims to blend Lexus’s signature driving experience with innovative electrification technologies.
The introduction of the RZ 600e follows the launch of the all-wheel-drive RZ 450e in March 2023 and the front-wheel-drive RZ 300e, which showcased an extended cruising range achieved through weight reduction. In January 2024, the lineup was further expanded with the performance variant, the RZ 450e “F SPORT Performance,” which was limited to just 100 units. This strategic growth aims to cater to a diverse array of customer preferences.
Performance and Design Features
Developed in collaboration with renowned air race pilot Yoshihide Muroya and professional racing driver Masahiro Sasaki, the RZ 600e “F SPORT Performance” is designed to push the boundaries of aerodynamic and driving performance. Building on the foundation of the RZ 550e “F SPORT,” this special edition amplifies the model’s core strengths. Enhanced downforce from exclusive aerodynamic components, coupled with increased motor output, promises a driving experience that is both sporty and progressive.
The vehicle’s overall height is reduced by 20 mm compared to the base RZ 550e “F SPORT,” which lowers aerodynamic drag and contributes to improved handling stability. This design decision supports a confident driving experience across various conditions. The RZ 600e is engineered to deliver a maximum output of 313 kW, ensuring an exhilarating acceleration that encapsulates the essence of performance driving.
To further optimize performance, the RZ 600e incorporates 20-inch brake rotors that enhance braking power and dynamic capability. The vehicle’s braking system allows for precise control, providing drivers with a heightened sense of connection to the road. Additionally, a unique steering wheel utilizing Steer-by-Wire technology offers a next-generation steering feel, promoting an engaging driving experience whether navigating city streets or winding roads.
Distinctive Aesthetics
The exterior of the RZ 600e is available in two striking color schemes: Black and HAKUGIN II with a matte clear finish, and Black and Neutrino Gray, as seen on the RZ 550e “F SPORT.” These finishes emphasize the vehicle’s sporty character and enhanced aerodynamic performance. Blue accents against the contrasting black body further convey a vibrant and invigorating driving experience.
Inside, the RZ 600e “F SPORT Performance” features front seats crafted using an integrated foam molding process. This design not only provides secure support during spirited driving but also ensures comfort for everyday use. The cabin is designed to harmoniously blend sportiness with refinement, creating a unique environment for both performance enthusiasts and casual drivers.
Both Muroya and Sasaki play pivotal roles in the development of Lexus’s performance offerings. Muroya, who made history as the first Asian pilot to win the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, has been instrumental in integrating aerodynamic technologies from aviation into automotive design. Sasaki, a seasoned competitor in the Super Taikyu series since 2007, has contributed significantly to refining the driving characteristics of the RZ lineup, including the RZ SPORT CONCEPT.
As part of its commitment to sustainability and innovation, Toyota, the parent company of Lexus, has launched initiatives aimed at addressing environmental challenges. The corporation aims to achieve a zero negative impact on society and the environment while enhancing happiness through mobility. With over 80 years of experience, Toyota is dedicated to developing safe, high-quality products and services that prioritize customer satisfaction and societal benefit.
The introduction of the RZ 600e “F SPORT Performance” marks a significant step in Lexus’s evolution as it pivots towards a future dominated by electric vehicles, reflecting its commitment to both performance and sustainability.
