Samsung Electronics has unveiled The Freestyle+, its latest AI-powered portable projector, designed to enhance the entertainment experience across various environments. Announced on January 2, 2026, the device will debut at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, with a global rollout scheduled for the first half of the year.
Building upon the original Freestyle model, The Freestyle+ showcases significant improvements in brightness and artificial intelligence capabilities. According to Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, “The Freestyle+ reflects Samsung’s vision to create displays that adapt naturally to how people live and move between spaces.”
Advanced AI Features for Effortless Viewing
At the heart of The Freestyle+ is the AI OptiScreen, a technology that automatically adjusts picture quality based on the viewing environment. Users can simply point the projector and start watching, thanks to features like:
– **3D Auto Keystone**: Corrects distortion when projecting onto uneven surfaces.
– **Real-time Focus**: Maintains image clarity as the projector moves or rotates.
– **Screen Fit**: Automatically adjusts the image to match the projection area.
– **Wall Calibration**: Analyzes the projection surface to enhance visual clarity.
These enhancements are complemented by the Vision AI Companion, Samsung’s personalized AI platform that integrates with Bixby to facilitate more intuitive interactions with on-screen content.
Designed for Portability and Versatile Use
The Freestyle+ features a compact cylindrical design, making it easy to transport between rooms or take on trips. With a brightness of 430 ISO Lumens, it nearly doubles the brightness of its predecessor, ensuring clarity in various settings. The projector’s 180-degree rotating capability allows users to project images on walls, floors, or ceilings without needing additional mounts or accessories.
This flexibility enables users to adapt their viewing experience to different spaces throughout the day.
Designed for entertainment beyond traditional living room settings, The Freestyle+ comes equipped with built-in access to Samsung TV Plus and certified OTT service partners, allowing users to stream and play content directly. The projector features a built-in 360-degree speaker, providing immersive audio that enhances the viewing experience. Additionally, it supports Q-Symphony, allowing synchronization with compatible Samsung soundbars for a richer sound experience.
Samsung Electronics will showcase The Freestyle+ at CES 2026 from January 6-9 in Las Vegas. The company aims to deliver innovative solutions that enhance how consumers interact with technology, creating a seamless and intelligent connected experience.
