UPDATE: A significant fire erupted in an apartment at Bar Beach, prompting urgent evacuations on January 8. Just after 4 PM, multiple emergency calls flooded in regarding the blaze, which ignited in a ground floor unit on Nickson Street.

Fire and Rescue NSW swiftly dispatched six fire trucks and over 20 firefighters to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found the apartment fully engulfed in flames, with the fire’s origin traced back to the kitchen area, according to a spokesperson from Fire and Rescue NSW.

Six residents were evacuated as a precaution. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and emergency services confirmed that none of the evacuees required medical treatment.
