Detectives from the Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit have taken a significant step in addressing antisemitic behavior in St Kilda East by arresting a second teenage boy. The 16-year-old was apprehended in Melton overnight following allegations related to an incident that occurred on January 19, 2024, around 21:50 on Glen Eira Road.

The arrest is part of a broader investigation into the reported antisemitic incident. In addition to the allegations of antisemitism, the boy has been interviewed concerning an aggravated burglary in Ormond on January 13 and a motor vehicle theft in Caulfield on January 10. He has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and several driving offenses. Following the proceedings, he has been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a future date.

Earlier, on January 21, authorities arrested a 15-year-old boy from the Yarra Ranges area in connection with the same case. He faces charges for the theft of a motor vehicle and has been granted bail to appear at a children’s court later.
