Several US military aircraft crashed in Kuwait, with all crew members reported safe and in stable condition, according to the Kuwait Defence Ministry. This incident occurs as escalating conflict in the Middle East intensifies, following Iranian retaliatory strikes against Gulf states.

In a separate event, smoke was observed near the US Embassy compound in Kuwait City, prompting emergency response teams, including fire trucks and ambulances, to the scene. The US Embassy and the US State Department did not respond to requests for comment regarding this incident.

Kuwait’s Defence Ministry announced that the military aircraft were evacuated with the help of US forces and that they were subsequently transferred to a hospital for observation. The number of aircraft involved in the crash has not been confirmed.

Iran’s state media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for targeting a US plane, which ultimately crashed in Kuwait. Verified online footage showed a military aircraft descending rapidly and a parachutist escaping from it in the Al Jahra area of Kuwait.

Earlier that day, Kuwait intercepted hostile drones, marking the third consecutive day of Iranian strikes in retaliation for US and Israeli attacks on Iran. The Kuwait National Petroleum Company reported that two workers experienced minor injuries from debris at the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery due to the drone activity.

The US Embassy in Kuwait has cautioned American citizens about the ongoing threat of missile and drone attacks, advising them to avoid the embassy and to shelter in place. The embassy recommended that individuals stay on the lowest floor of their residences, away from windows, and refrain from going outside during this period of heightened tension.

Kuwait’s civil defence director confirmed that the majority of drones were intercepted without any reported injuries. However, loud explosions were heard on Monday morning in both Dubai and Doha, signaling the broader impact of the conflict on regional stability.

Tehran has announced intentions to target US bases in the region following recent strikes by the US and Israel on March 16, 2024. These developments have raised concerns about the safety of key aviation and trade hubs across the Gulf, as civilian and commercial areas continue to be affected by the ongoing hostilities.
