Finn Wolfhard has revealed details of his upcoming 2025 UK and European tour, titled Objection!, in support of his debut solo album, Happy Birthday. The tour is set to kick off on October 4, 2025, with a performance at La Maroquinerie in Paris, before proceeding to cities such as Berlin, Manchester, and Dublin. The tour will culminate in a headline show at London’s Electric Brixton on October 16, 2025.
The 21-year-old actor, widely recognized for his role in Stranger Things, released Happy Birthday in June 2023. The album features the lead single “Choose The Latter,” which evokes a sense of nostalgia, along with the introspective track “Trailers After Dark.” This marks a significant step for Wolfhard, who previously gained recognition as the frontman of bands Calpurnia and The Aubreys.
Musical Influences and Creative Process
In a conversation with NME earlier this year, Wolfhard shared insights into the creative journey behind the album. He acknowledged fellow Stranger Things co-stars Joe Keery and Maya Hawke as significant influences on his music. “(Joe) was a gigantic inspiration to me and another mentor,” Wolfhard stated. He recalled a collaborative effort among friends during filming, where Keery and Hawke would engage in a song-writing challenge, submitting new tracks weekly.
Wolfhard expressed a desire to continue collaborating with Keery, who is known for his musical work under the name Djo. Keery released his third album, The Crux, in 2023. Earlier this year, the two shared the stage in Toronto, performing “Flash Mountain,” a song from Djo’s 2019 debut album, Twenty Twenty.
Expanding the Stranger Things Universe
Wolfhard’s tour announcement coincides with the ongoing expansion of the Stranger Things franchise. A new animated spin-off titled Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is currently in production at Netflix. The series is being executive-produced by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, along with Shawn Levy, who directed films such as Deadpool and Wolverine. While specific casting or plot details remain under wraps, the Duffer brothers expressed their excitement about the project in a statement to Netflix’s Tudum.
“We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving,” they shared. “To see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling.” They praised the work of Eric Robles and his team, stating, “The scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues…”
Wolfhard’s tour and the new spin-off demonstrate the continuing impact of Stranger Things, both in music and television. As fans eagerly await both the album and the tour, it is clear that Wolfhard is poised to expand his artistic horizons beyond acting.
