3-6-million-fund-boosts-muhammadiyah-australia-college-growth

UPDATE: $3.6 million in funding has just been allocated to Muhammadiyah Australia College in Melton, a significant boost aimed at expanding educational facilities for the rapidly increasing student population. Melton MP Steve McGhie announced this urgent development today, underscoring the commitment to support the next generation of students from diverse Muslim backgrounds.

The funding will allow for the construction of three new classrooms, a new library, a conference room, and a staff room. Additionally, the existing library will be renovated into three additional classrooms, effectively enhancing the school’s capacity to accommodate more students. This project comes as part of a broader initiative, with a total of $450 million allocated to upgrade and build non-government schools across Victoria.

Education Minister Ben Carroll emphasized the state’s goal to ensure that every Victorian student has access to quality education close to home, regardless of their background or location. “This funding is crucial for schools like Muhammadiyah Australia College to thrive and support their communities,” Carroll stated.

Mr. McGhie expressed his enthusiasm for the funding, stating, “We are thrilled to support Muhammadiyah Australia College expand, ensuring that future generations have access to quality education.” He added that he looks forward to visiting the college once the project is completed to witness firsthand the positive impact it will have.

This funding initiative is part of a larger strategy to support non-government schools, with a focus on addressing safety concerns, including the removal of asbestos and cladding in existing school facilities. The allocation will see Catholic schools receiving at least 70 percent of the funding, while independent schools will secure at least 30 percent.

As construction plans move forward, the community anticipates a transformative impact on local education, marking a significant step towards inclusivity and improved learning environments for students. Stay tuned for updates on the project’s progress and its anticipated completion.
