Olly Murs recently shared his feelings of isolation and longing for companionship before meeting his wife, Amelia Tank. The couple, who married in 2022 and welcomed their first child, Madison, last year, are now anticipating the arrival of their second child. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the 40-year-old singer discussed his emotions prior to their relationship and how he found a true connection with Amelia.

Journey from Loneliness to Love

Before entering a relationship with Amelia, Olly described a sense of disheartenment. He expressed concerns about dating, stating, “I questioned whether girls were dating me for the right reasons.” He noted that while his friends were building families, he returned home to an empty house, which left him feeling lonely. “There were moments when I longed to have someone special in my life,” he reflected.

Despite a rocky start to their romance, with their first date at a pub not going as planned, Olly quickly recognized Amelia as his life partner. “After that terrible date, we reset and very quickly, I knew she was my life partner,” he said. He added, “I’d never felt so comfortable with someone. If my life had been a bit grey before, Amelia’s love restored all the colour.”

Embracing Parenthood Together

The couple’s journey into parenthood has been significant, with the birth of their daughter Madison last year. As they prepare for their second child, Olly is committed to being present this time around. He recalled a challenging experience shortly after Madison was born, when he had to embark on a tour supporting Take That. “Two days after Madison was born, I had to go on tour. I felt guilty,” he admitted. He emphasized that while Amelia had support from her mother and his parents, he wants to be more available during this new chapter.

Olly and Amelia announced their pregnancy news over the Easter weekend in April. They shared a heartfelt black-and-white video on social media, showcasing their growing family. In the video, Olly walked hand-in-hand with Amelia while carrying Madison on his shoulders, who sported a denim jacket with ‘BIG SIS’ embroidered on the back. “We’re so egg-cited to share this … Another Baby Murs on the way,” he wrote in the post, accompanied by a baby scan photo in Amelia’s hand and the song “Baby I’m Yours” playing in the background.

As they embark on this new journey, Olly Murs and Amelia Tank continue to celebrate their love and family, illustrating the joy of motherhood and partnership. The couple’s story resonates with many who seek meaningful relationships and the fulfillment of starting a family together.
