final-design-unveiled-for-1-million-mount-victoria-park-upgrade

BREAKING: The final design for the highly anticipated Mount Victoria Memorial Park playspace has just been revealed, and construction is set to kick off on August 25, 2025. This $1 million upgrade, funded by the federal government, aims to transform the park into a more welcoming and inclusive space for all visitors.

Federal Member for Macquarie, Susan Templeman, emphasized the importance of this investment, stating it will “provide an improved playspace for locals of all ages” and encourage visitors to spend more time in Mount Victoria. The final design reflects robust community engagement, with Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill confirming that resident feedback significantly shaped the project.

“We heard from a wide range of community members, and that feedback has shaped the outcome,” Greenhill remarked. He added, “We’ve been able to incorporate many ideas, from improved accessibility to play elements that cater to various ages and abilities.” While not every suggestion could be integrated, the design aims to reflect the community’s needs.

As construction begins, the playspace will be closed off to the public, transforming it into a construction zone. However, the existing swing set near the car park will remain accessible throughout the construction period, addressing concerns raised by residents.

Community members eager to view the final design and provide additional feedback have until August 21, 2025, to visit yoursay.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/mount-victoria-park. This platform will keep the public updated on the project’s progress and any potential adjustments to the design before construction starts.

Stay tuned as this exciting development unfolds, promising a revitalized park experience for the Mount Victoria community.
