URGENT UPDATE: The Wyndham Young Scientist competition is officially open, inviting brilliant young minds from across the municipality to showcase their innovative science and technology inventions. Students from years 7-12 who reside in or attend school in Wyndham are encouraged to participate and make their mark in this exciting contest, which is being held in conjunction with the annual Wyndham Learning Festival.

This initiative aims to ignite a passion for science and foster community engagement through creativity and problem-solving. Participants are challenged to link their projects to real-world issues facing Wyndham, creating models, presentations, and installations that are both imaginative and impactful.

Entries are capped at six submissions per school, with the deadline for applications set for September 4, 2025. Students can enter as individuals or as teams, providing a platform for collaboration and innovative thinking.

Shortlisted participants will have the opportunity to present their projects on September 6, 2025, to a panel of three judges. The judging criteria will focus on innovation, communication, creativity, and the potential to contribute to a better future for Wyndham.

Each entry must include a summary of the invention, a statement of its necessity, and an outline of how it can benefit the Wyndham community. This not only encourages academic excellence but also emphasizes the importance of addressing local challenges through science and technology.
