ALDI Australia has announced the expansion of its ALDI Solar program, now offering solar and battery packages to homeowners along the eastern seaboard. Following a successful trial, this initiative aims to make renewable energy more accessible and affordable for a broader range of consumers.
The ALDI Solar program is part of the retailer’s commitment to providing value beyond grocery products. Homeowners are expected to benefit significantly from this initiative, which allows them to take control of their electricity costs. Simon Padovani-Ginies, Group Director at ALDI Australia, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “Bringing ALDI Solar to more Aussies along the Eastern Seaboard is an exciting step for us, expanding our commitment to delivering incredible quality and affordability beyond groceries.”
Solar Packages Tailored for Homeowners
The newly introduced solar packages are available in selected areas, including Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). The program simplifies the often complex process of transitioning to solar energy.
ALDI Solar has partnered with Tempo, an Australian-owned company known for its expertise in renewable energy. There are two primary package options available to cater to varying household needs. The first package is priced at A$6,999 and includes a 6.6kW solar panel array, a 5.5kW hybrid inverter, and a 10kWh battery. The second option, which costs A$8,499, offers the same solar array and inverter but is equipped with a larger 20kWh battery capacity.
Features and Benefits of ALDI Solar Packages
Both solar packages come fully installed and include several valuable features. ALDI emphasizes the use of premium components, featuring N-type TOPCon solar panels and safe Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. This ensures reliability and performance for users.
In case of a power outage, the systems offer blackout protection, allowing essential appliances to remain operational through an emergency power circuit.
Customers will also benefit from an online portal that tracks the installation process, from initial assessments to final setup. The accompanying ALDI Solar app allows homeowners to monitor real-time energy production, consumption, and battery status, enhancing user engagement and awareness.
Each package is backed by robust warranties, including a 10-year warranty for the battery and inverter, as well as a 25-year performance guarantee for the solar panels. These assurances provide long-term peace of mind for users as they invest in renewable energy.
Installation of the solar systems is set to commence in November 2025. For those interested in learning more about this initiative or to inquire about installation, further details can be found at aldisolar.com.au.
ALDI’s move into the solar market represents a significant step towards enhancing renewable energy accessibility, empowering consumers to manage their energy costs effectively while contributing to environmental sustainability.
