bybit-sets-new-record-with-71-765-participants-in-trading-event

Bybit, the second-largest cryptocurrency exchange globally by trading volume, recently achieved a significant milestone in its World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2025 event. The exchange set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for “Most Participants in an Online Trading Competition within 24 Hours,” with a remarkable total of 71,765 participants recorded from August 27 at 12 PM UTC.

This achievement positions Bybit as the first and only cryptocurrency exchange to hold this accolade, underscoring its commitment to transforming the landscape of crypto trading. The record was validated by an independent third-party auditor, HACKEN, and witnessed by multiple independent parties, solidifying its legitimacy.

A Historic Trading Competition

The WSOT 2025 event has set a new standard for online trading competitions. The total trading volume reached an unprecedented $172.8 billion, marking the highest in WSOT history. With 1,474 squads participating in the Main Competition, this reflects a substantial increase of 288% year-on-year.

As the competition approaches its final week, participants have unlocked over 6.14 million USDT in the prize pool. Additionally, a new feature, the WSOT Onchain Wave, launched on August 18, 2025, has already generated over $68 million in trading volume.

To celebrate this historic moment, Bybit hosted a livestream on September 8, 2025, where they revealed the record achievement and distributed 50,000 MNT to WSOT participants along with 1,000 USDT in airdrops to viewers.

Community and Competitive Spirit

The recognition from GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS highlights Bybit’s goal to democratize competitive trading and promote the global reach of digital assets. Claudia Wang, Head of Marketing at Bybit, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating, “Nothing demonstrates team spirit like a world record achieved by the WSOT collective. We believe crypto is a global movement and our passionate communities are the building blocks.”

WSOT 2025 aims to reshape competitive trading by providing optimal conditions for participation. The event’s theme, “Rewrite and Reshape,” encourages participants to redefine trading competition history while striving for personal success in the largest crypto trading tournament globally.

In addition to engaging the trading community, Bybit has partnered with over 30 organizations and universities around the world to enhance blockchain education and innovation, further solidifying its role in the evolving digital landscape.
