cables-pub-grill-to-close-for-rebranding-as-big-city-roadhouse

Cables Pub & Grill, a beloved establishment in Greeley, will close its doors at the end of this month for a rebranding under new ownership. The restaurant, located at 1923 59th Ave., announced the transition via social media, revealing that it will reopen as Big City Roadhouse.

The new owners, Cleta and Don Yamauchi, plan to retain most of the existing menu. Diners can still expect to enjoy favorites such as California-style burritos, pizza, wings, and the all-you-can-eat spaghetti. According to Biz West, nearly all of the current staff will remain employed, helping to maintain the restaurant’s familiar atmosphere.

History and Future of Cables Pub & Grill

Cables has been a staple in the Greeley community since it opened in 1972. Over the years, the restaurant expanded to include locations in Fort Morgan, Fort Collins, and Estes Park, although only the Fort Morgan location remains operational. The Fort Morgan site will continue to serve its local customers.

The Yamauchi family brings a wealth of culinary experience to their new venture. They also own Big City Burrito, with locations in Fort Collins and Loveland, which they acquired in 2022, as reported by the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce. Don Yamauchi has an extensive background in the culinary arts, having worked as a chef on the East Coast. The couple previously opened a Mexican restaurant in Florida before moving to Colorado.

As the community awaits the reopening, many are hopeful that the new branding will bring fresh energy while preserving the essence of the long-standing establishment. The transition marks an important chapter in Greeley’s dining scene, and patrons are eager to see how Big City Roadhouse will evolve from its roots at Cables Pub & Grill.
