Deadstock Coffee is set to reopen in Portland, breathing new life into a beloved local brand. After the closure of its original location on December 31, 2023, the coffee shop will be moving to The Hoxton Hotel at 15 NW 4th Avenue. Owner Ian Williams announced plans for the new location to open in March 2024, retaining the sneaker-themed vibe that characterized its previous establishment.
The original Deadstock Coffee shop began serving customers in 2016 at 408 NW Couch Street, quickly becoming a favorite among coffee enthusiasts. Its menu featured a variety of options, including espressos and iced lattes. Additionally, the shop offered unique merchandise through its website, such as crew jackets and cargo pants, appealing to sneaker culture aficionados.
New Location and Menu Updates
Williams expressed excitement about returning to the Portland coffee scene with a fresh location, along with many of the baristas from the former shop. He hinted at new menu items that will be revealed in the coming weeks, promising to enhance the customer experience.
In addition to the new Hoxton location, Deadstock Coffee also operates another shop at 12305 SW Broadway Street in Beaverton, which opened in the fall of 2024. This upcoming opening at The Hoxton marks the company’s second expansion, reflecting its commitment to growth despite recent challenges.
“Sometimes, good things come to an end,” Williams stated in a recent post, referencing the closure of the original shop.
The Hoxton Hotel has become a hub for culinary experiences, featuring not only Deadstock Coffee but also the recently opened Pamana restaurant, operated by the owners of the Boan Kainan Filipino food cart. The hotel also boasts a rooftop restaurant and bar called Tope, enhancing its appeal as a dining destination.
