Ecolab Inc., a leader in sustainability solutions, has introduced its innovative 3D TRASARTM Technology for Direct-to-Chip Liquid Cooling in Southeast Asia. The launch occurred in Singapore on October 9, 2025, during the Data Center World Asia 2025 event. This groundbreaking technology transforms the cooling process for high-performance computing systems and data centers, providing real-time monitoring of critical coolant health indicators such as temperature, pH, and flow rates.

This new solution enhances the protection of data center servers while addressing growing concerns about energy and resource efficiency. According to Gregory Lukasik, CEO and Senior Vice President of Ecolab Southeast Asia, “Data centers are critical to powering our digital future, and their importance will only grow as AI accelerates.” He emphasized the necessity of developing systems that recycle water and energy to support the anticipated growth in AI and cloud computing.

Meeting the Demands of a Growing Market

The Asia Pacific region is rapidly becoming a major hub for data centers, currently representing over 40% of new global capacity. With demand projected to double by 2030, driven largely by advancements in AI and high-performance computing (HPC), the region faces a significant increase in electricity consumption. In Singapore, data centers are responsible for approximately 7% of the nation’s electricity use, with cooling systems consuming nearly 40% of that energy.

As the data center market in Singapore is expected to grow from USD 4.16 billion in 2024 to USD 5.59 billion by 2030, the need to manage operational risks and enhance efficiency is becoming increasingly critical. Ecolab has been present in Singapore since the 1970s, employing hundreds of associates across multiple locations. The company supports various industries, including food and beverage manufacturing, lodging, and advanced manufacturing, through its expertise in water and process management.

Ecolab is also collaborating with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore to nurture the next generation of data center engineers and water management professionals. This initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to fostering future-ready talent in the region.

Innovative Technology for Sustainable Solutions

The 3D TRASARTM Technology for Direct-to-Chip Liquid Cooling is designed to ensure high-performance servers remain operational by continuously monitoring coolant conditions. This system safeguards critical infrastructure and prevents potential downtime. By optimizing Water Use Efficiency (WUE) and Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), Ecolab’s cooling programs contribute to operational success while supporting sustainability initiatives such as Singapore’s Green Plan 2030.

Ecolab integrates various proven technologies within its facilities to enhance uptime, efficiency, and resilience. The launch of this innovative cooling solution highlights Ecolab’s role as a trusted partner in developing sustainable and efficient data centers.

Kelly Lai, Vice President for Materials & Chemicals at the Economic Development Board Singapore, remarked, “As Singapore continues to invest in AI talent and infrastructure, specialty chemicals partners that offer practical technologies to boost energy and resources will be key to driving sustainable growth.” She added that Singapore welcomes partnerships with companies like Ecolab that are advancing resource-efficient solutions for the region and beyond.

Ecolab’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its extensive portfolio of water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions that protect vital resources. With annual sales of approximately $16 billion and operations in over 170 countries, Ecolab continues to deliver comprehensive, science-based solutions that enhance food safety, maintain safe environments, and optimize resource use.
