A beloved car repair shop in Wodonga has officially transitioned to its third couple of owners, continuing a legacy that spans more than four decades. The business, formerly known as Twin City Auto Repairs, is now rebranded as D&B Automotive, named after childhood sweethearts Daniel and Rebekah Guszlovan. The handover took place on December 5, 2025, marking a new chapter while aiming to retain the charm and familiarity that customers have come to expect.

The Guszlovans are determined to maintain the essence of the family-run operation. “We’re going to try to keep everything exactly the same,” said Daniel Guszlovan, “so it’s the same family business people feel comfortable with, with no drastic changes besides the name.” Having moved to Wodonga from Melbourne nine years ago, Daniel has garnered valuable experience managing various garages during his two-decade career in the automotive industry.

Before taking ownership, he managed Pedders in Albury and worked for Kmart Tyre & Auto. His extensive background includes stints at renowned brands like Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz. This experience makes him well-suited to continue the high standards set by the previous owners.

Rebekah Guszlovan, who has spent six years working in the car parts sector, will oversee front-of-house operations. The couple’s strong foundation in the industry positions them well to attract and retain loyal customers.

Customer reception since the transition has been overwhelmingly positive. “Business has been going well, and customers have been really good,” Daniel noted. “I haven’t really had any negative feedback. It’s just business as usual, which is good.”

The previous owners, Oliver and Andrea Entrop, express gratitude for the support they received during their twelve years at the helm. “We would like to really thank our customers from the bottom of our hearts,” Oliver Entrop stated. “For the support in good years and bad years like COVID. We can’t ask for a better customer base; it was a brilliant time.”

The Entrops’ journey began in 2012 when they relocated from Germany, motivated by their passion for the Albury-Wodonga area. During their honeymoon, a friend suggested that Oliver explore job opportunities in Wodonga, leading to a swift transition. “Then we had five job offers in one day, and within three months, we were here,” Andrea recalled.

During their tenure, the couple managed to build upon the legacy established by the previous owners, Garry and Jenni Payne, who also operated the business successfully. The transition to the Entrops coincided with significant shifts in the automotive market, particularly the decline of local brands like Holden and Ford, which allowed the Entrops to capitalize on the growing demand for European vehicles.

Reflecting on their experience, Oliver noted, “Australia really gives us a lot back. Our view is when you work hard, you can still make it in Australia, and we think it’s great.”

As the Guszlovans take the reins, the Entrops are optimistic about the future of D&B Automotive. They express excitement about passing the torch to this young couple, eager to see what fresh perspectives they will bring to the long-standing operation.

With their commitment to upholding the quality and service that has defined the shop for years, the Guszlovans look poised to forge their own path in the automotive industry, ensuring that D&B Automotive remains a trusted name in Wodonga for years to come.
