Fracture Brewing will manage a new bar set to open at the Extra Credit Food Cart Pod on the campus of Portland State University in February 2026. This development comes after nearly a year of planning for the site, located at 1900 SW 5th Avenue. The announcement was shared via the Extra Credit food cart pod’s official Instagram account.

The owner of ChefStable, Kurt Huffman, oversees Fracture Brewing and has indicated that the entire pod will feature around 20 food carts along with utility services for tenants. The site will also provide indoor seating for over 200 patrons, creating a vibrant dining experience.

Details of the New Space

The Extra Credit Food Cart Pod will occupy the former Wells Fargo building, which has been vacant for some time. The project aims to revitalize the area and offer students and faculty a diverse selection of food and drink options. As of May 2023, Extra Credit was accepting applications from businesses interested in occupying the food pods.

Fracture Brewing already operates two locations in Portland, one at 1015 SE Stark Street and another in the Midtown Beer Garden at 431 SW Harvey Milk Street. Known for their range of craft beers, including west coast pilsners, pale ales, hazy IPAs, and blond ales, the brewery has established a solid reputation in the local craft beer scene.

It remains unclear whether Fracture Brewing will also serve food at the new location. The focus appears to be primarily on providing a full bar experience, as indicated in promotional materials from Extra Credit.
