San Diego-based Immersion Coffee Co. is set to expand its operations by opening a new location at the Miramar Food Hall in San Clemente this fall. The new establishment will join a diverse lineup of 13 food and drink vendors at the site, which is undergoing renovations to transform an old theatre located at 1720 N El Camino Real.
Founded in 2019, Immersion Coffee Co. initially operated under the name Manivela Coffee Truck, offering mobile electric coffee services. The company has since rebranded and successfully established multiple brick-and-mortar locations in popular areas such as Little Italy, La Jolla, and Carlsbad. Co-founders Birtan Cetinoz and Ugur Iyigun, who have been friends since childhood, aim to create spaces that foster community and connection through quality coffee.
Signature Offerings and Café Design
The new café at Miramar will feature a specialty coffee program, presenting unique drinks including the Orange Latte with Cara Cara compote, Strawberry Matcha, and Agave-Sweet Cream Espresso. In addition to beverages, Immersion will offer seasonal pastries and baked goods made fresh daily.
Inside the food hall, the café will showcase a minimalist aesthetic with an intimate coffee counter, soft lighting, and curated music. Equipment will include state-of-the-art La Marzocco espresso machines and Mahlkönig grinders, ensuring high-quality coffee preparation.
Upcoming Opening and Community Goals
Construction for the new location is currently underway, with staff recruitment expected to commence closer to its completion. Immersion Coffee Co. anticipates opening its doors in late fall 2025.
“Our goal has always been to create spaces that go beyond serving coffee, providing drinkable quality that is accessible and affordable to anyone,” Cetinoz stated in an interview with What Now OC. “We’re excited to join the Miramar Food Hall community and share our signature drinks and hospitality with a new part of Southern California.”
With this expansion, Immersion Coffee Co. aims to enhance the local food and beverage scene while continuing its mission of creating a welcoming environment for coffee lovers.
